APPROVAL for the Valla Quarry to increase its extraction rate has been limited to 12 months by Nambucca Shire councillors.
The general manager, Michael Coulter, said at the end of that time there would be another review of the development application.
Valla resident Susan Jenvey, who addressed Thursday’s council meeting prior to the decision, said locals were not clear how this helped them.
“We are not really sure what we actually got out of it all,” Ms Jenvey said.
“The motion to revisit the quantity extraction after 12 months doesn’t really help the residents who are suffering from the noise and pollution and trucks.
“All this does is give the council a stick to prevent the quarry exceeding their extraction limits again.”
