File photo. THE next tri-annual Murrumburrah Intermediate High School Reunion will be held at the school on Saturday, October 18.
The reunion is open for all those students who entered their first year in the high school up to and including the 1965 year or entered second year in 1966.
It will start at the school at noon on Saturday, October 18, with afternoon tea supplied by the School P&C. There will be a dinner at 6pm and there will be a farewell barbecue on Sunday at noon.
It is open for all students and their partners. Teachers and their partners are welcome also.
In 2011 about 200 people attended and all had a great time rekindling friendships.
Organiser Keith Prosser says the first information letter will be send out in mid-May, asking for the ex-students to register by the June 16.
“However if they don’t receive the letter and they fit into the years then by all means make contact with one of the MIHS committee,” he said.
“This presents a great opportunity for families to have a reunion within a reunion. We encourage family members to get together and come to the MIHS Reunion and have there own private reunion either at the MIHS Reunion on Saturday and their own on the Sunday.
“We have increased the classes this year to a further three years than in 2011, which will take in the class years of 1963, 1964 and 1965.
“By increasing the reunion by three years, it has caused some problems as we have only the students surnames and initials, no Christian names and no addresses.
“So we are asking for all of those students who attended in those years if they would kindly contact the local organisers with any information such as first names, and addresses. Although you may not be interested in the reunion, and if you can help it would be greatly appreciated.
“We will display posters in and around the town with the names of the people who we wish to make contact with.
“From the reunion in 2008 we have had two school sweethearts met again and the romance started up all over. The lovely happy pair married 12 months later and attended in 2011 and thanked the committee for what they were able to rekindle their romance. In 2011 we had two ladies unite who hadn’t seen each other for 61 years.”
All those who wish to come along are required to register by June 16 by sending a self-addressed envelope to Keith Prosser, MIHS Re-Unions, 19 Towradgi Street, Narraweena, NSW,2099. Keith can also be contacted on 02 99812513 or([email protected]南京夜网). Locally people can contact Robert Lemon on 63862094, Elizabeth Robinson on 63862476 or Linda Hearne on 63862073.
