With two days of solid racing it proved to be a fast and furious pace all weekend.
The state’s best drivers put on an awesome display of skill and with consistent track watering the lap record was broken numerous times.
The top qualifiers after six rounds on day one were Steve Foord (Adelaide) in Buggy with a total of 85 laps and Shane Hancock (Adelaide) in Truggy with a total of 81 laps.
The Qantaslink/Eyre Travel Super Shootout kept the top qualifiers in the pole position for their classes.
The Noel Dickson Cup, sponsored by EP Dogs, for the highest Port Lincoln placegetters went to Nathan Bichard in Buggy placing seventh while Dale Siegmann in Truggy placed 10th.
Kieran Stephens of Port Lincoln won the Carls Excavations Incentive Award. Overall winners for the 1/8 Buggy were: first Mark Brown (Whyalla), second Andrew Foord (Adelaide) and third Shane Hancock (Adelaide).
Overall winners for the 1/8 Truggy were: first Shane Hancock (Adelaide), second Glenn Boyd (Adelaide) and third Aiden Pallant (Naracoorte).
About 30 people made the trip to Port Lincoln with Damien Smart from Port Lincoln Fishing and Camping hosting a number for a couple of days beforehand.
